Welcome to Kindergarten!!
My name is Melinda Knoles and this is my sixth year at Hale Elementary. I have been a teacher for twenty-four years. I've enjoyed working with children in different parts of the valley! I have divided my teaching between kindergarten and second grade. I have found that teaching kindergarten is what I LOVE! There is something exciting happening everyday in our classroom.
I am a native to Arizona and have witnessed first hand the tremendous growth and change our state has experienced. The area has changed drastically compared to what I was surrounded by as a child growing up next to the dairy farms in Gilbert. I earned both of my degrees at Northern Arizona University. That is where I met my fabulous husband. I enjoy being active. I like to hike, run and play different sports, particularly volleyball (and, recently, pickleball!). I completed my first (and only) marathon in the fall of 2010 and I have no plans to run another one. Also, I enjoy cooking when I have time. Both of my children are married to wonderful spouses and enjoying their lives. I'm about to be a grandmother for the first time.
I feel very lucky to have a group of children to keep me company at Hale. We will be very busy each week so it is important that every student arrive at school ready to learn and participate. I encourage each parent/guardian to take a special interest in the education of their child. It is a wonderful experience to observe students make great progress throughout the year. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with my class!
