Young Learner Kinder: 7:55 - 10:40 a.m.

Teachers are on duty before school at 7:40 A.M. Children should not arrive at school before that time. Teachers assume the responsibility for bus duty after school until all buses have left. Students should go directly home at dismissal time. Children returning to school for any reason after dismissal time should be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Directions to the Campus

 Hawthorne Elementary School is located on Hunt Drive, north of University Drive and east of Stapley Drive.

Visitors and Volunteers on Campus

Parents and authorized adults are welcome on campus. State law requires that visitors report to the office and sign in and out. They must also pick up a VISITOR badge at that time. The badge must be worn at all times that the visitor in on campus. Parents are asked not to bring preschoolers or other children for classroom visits. Younger children can distract both the visitor and the class. Because teachers must give their full attention to their students, we also ask that you arrange conferences outside school hours rather than when you visit the classroom. Student visitors are not allowed at Hawthorne during school hours, primarily because they require attention from the teacher that could better be directed to current Hawthorne students.State law requires that volunteers report to the office to sign in and out. They must also pick up a VOLUNTEER badge at that time. The badge must be worn at all times that the volunteer is on campus. Parents volunteers must be trained before operating any school equipment. Parents should not bring preschoolers or other children to Hawthorne when they are volunteering.

Change of Student Information

PLEASE IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE NURSE AND THE OFFICE OF ANY HOME, WORK, CELL, OR EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER CHANGES ON YOUR CHILD'S EMERGENCY CARD.

Attendance Information

Parents should contact the school at 480- 472 - 7501 when a student will be absent from or late to school.

This line is accesible 24 hours a day.

The line up bell rings at 7:50 a.m.
Students are expected to be in their classroom ready to learn at
7:55 a.m.

After 7:55 a.m., your student is considered tardy.
They must report to the office and obtain a tardy pass.

If we do not hear from you, school personnel will call to check on the absences.
We have established this procedure as a safety factor for our students
as well as a deterrent for unexcused absence and tardiness.
