Thursday 9/20 is 2nd Grade's APTT night - 2nd grade parents please plan on attending!
Tuesday 9/18 is 4th Grade's APTT night - 4th grade parents please plan on attending!
Thursday, September 13 at 2:30 is our SIAC/FIAT/Title 1 meeting in the library for any interested parents. We will meet in the library. We will discuss our school letter grade and our Schoolwide Continuous Improvement Plan. Click here to view our SCIP!

Monday, August 27th is 3rd Grade's 1st APTT night - see you there 3rd grade parents!
Wednesday, August 22th is 1st Grade's 1st APTT night - see you there 1st grade parents!
School Starts Wednesday, August 8th! See you then!!!

We also gave out awards to Ms. Millsaps and Ms. Clark for their outstanding efforts with our PTO this school year! They really made a difference! Thank you!!!

- Friday 4/29/11 - Hawthorne Heritage Festival from 5 - 7pm Come and Celebrate with us!

- 4/11/11 - 4/15/11 was AIMS and Stanford 10 week - WAY TO GO HAWTHORNE HAWKS!!!
- Friday April 8th we celebrated 2nd grade students who made their math intervention goals!
Friday, April 1st was our 3rd Quarter Awards Assembly! Students and teachers received awards for outstanding work!

2/28 - 3/4 was our Celebrate Reading Week! We had:

- Author Visit - Brook Bessesen - Thursday
- Reading Challenge 2/12 - 2/27 the classes that read the most won an ice cream party!!!
- Book Exchange - bring your old books to exchange!
- Friday 2/4/11 @ 12:30 was our First Friday Flag and the Presentation of February's Students of the Month! We will have a Friday Flag the First Friday of every month from now on!

On 11/13/10 The City of Mesa Presented "Community Spirit Benefit Show" proceeds benefitted Hawthorne Elementary!!! Parent teacher conferences were the week of 10/18/10 and we had a book fair in the library.
2009-2010
December has been a busy month for Hawthorne Hawks. Congratulations to Jackie "J.J." Reeves on winning this year's Spelling Bee.
In November, Hawthorne's 3rd Graders were each given a dictionary from the Rotary Club.
