Hi, my name is Cynthia Blakely. This is my first year teaching at Hawthorne and Mesa Public Schools. This is my 21st year of teaching in several different school districts. This is my 5th year in Kindergarten. I have taught 1st grade, computer specials and 12 years of Preschool.
A little about my education, I have a Master's in Education in Elementary Reading from Grand Canyon University. For my Bachelor's degree I attended the Indigenous Teacher Preparation Program at Arizona State University and I obtained a Certified Child Development Associate while I was at Scottsdale Community College. I am a lifelong learner and educating myself and others is a part of my life.
In my personal life, I have raised 5 wonderful children. My children rage in age from 30 to 18. All my children have attended Mesa Public Schools and are currently in or have graduated from college. I have 2 grandchildren that attend Stevenson Elementary. I love my grand-kids!
My goal is to provide the best environment for students to learn. I want my students to feel good about their educational experience and feel excited about school everyday! I also encourage parent participation in their child's education. This can be by volunteering time in the classroom, at school, at home or any other means. Investing in a child's education by parent involvement will produce the payment of a students success in school. If you would like to help in any way, please feel free to contact me.
