Brian C. Wilson is currently the director of bands and department chair at Hendrix Junior High School, Chandler Arizona. He received both his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Performance from Arizona State University. While at ASU, he studied trombone with Gail Eugene Wilson and Euphonium with Daniel Perantoni, Sam Pilafian, and Pat Sheridan. Mr. Wilson was a Graduate Assistant during his graduate degree on Tuba/Euphonium (1998-2001) and on trombone (2001-2002).
Mr. Wilson is in his eleventh year as a music educator, and his fourth year at Hendrix. His previous teaching experience was with the Kyrene School District. During his years as a music educator he has been an active clinician. Some of the most notable include directing the Tempe Junior High Honor Band as well as the Mesa Elementary School Honor Band.
As a composer, Mr. Wilson has had his music played by many High School/Junior High and Elementary School Bands. Most recently he had his piece Narrative of a Thunderstorm premiered by Desert Vista High School at Carnegie Hall in New York, NY. His music has also been performed by the 2006 Arizona Junior High All-State Band and at the Arizona Music Educators Associations Annual Conference.
As a performer, Mr. Wilson performs regularlyprincipal euphonium in the Arizona Wind Symphony. Mr. Wilson has also performed with the AWS as a soloist multiple times. During 2007 and 2009, Mr. Wilson toured Europe as a euphonium soloist with the Arizona Ambassadors of Music. The tour took Mr. Wilson to England, France, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
