Student Absences |
If your child is going to be absent from school, please
notify the office (472-7552) as early as possible. Our voice mail is on
24 hours per day so you may call any time and leave a message. |

Grades 1-3 and all day Kindergarten school begins at
8:30 and releases at 2:55pm |
What is the cost of school lunches
and how do we pay? |
| Elementary Lunch prices are $1.60 a day or $8.00 per week and $.40 a day or $2.00 per week for those students whose families qualify for reduced-price meal benefits. Each child will have an individual account so that you can pay in advance by cash or by check in any amount. As the account is nearing its end, you will be notified in advance. The child could also pay on a daily basis, but that is up to you to decide with your child. |
How do I register a student
new to the district? |
To register students new to the district, we must have the following 3 items before we can put them in class: 1) a certified copy of the child's birth certificate 2) a current documented immunization record and 3) proof of residency in our school boundaries. Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by August 31. Students who will be 5 years old between September 1 and December 31 may enroll in the Early Learners class. |

students for the new school year 2008-2009? |

What do I need to do if my child
cannot attend school? |
Just call Hermosa Vista attendance line (472-7552) and either speak with the attendance clerk or leave a message at the proper command on the voice message menu. This number is available 24 hours/7 days a week. Just report the following information:

How may I contact my child's teacher? |
| At the beginning of the school year you will receive the phone number for the teacher(s) your children have. You can also go to the staff link from this page to find their number. The teacher will be available for phone calls before and after school hours. During regular school you will be able to leave a voice mail and the teacher will return your call when the school day is over. Calls are not permitted into the classroom during times of instruction. |

How do I get to Hermosa Vista
School? |
| Exit the 202 south on Gilbert Road and go south to Old Gilbert Road stoplight. Turn left at the light. Drive north to Hermosa Vista Drive, turn right and drive east to 24th street. Turn left on 24th and drive north and you will come to Hermosa Vista School. If you are coming from the east on Mckellips, turn right on Lindsay and drive north to Hermosa Vista Drive. Turn left and drive to 24th and trun right and drive to Hermosa Vista School. |
Is Hermosa Vista a safe school
to attend? |
| Absolutely. We have a very caring staff who goes beyond the mile to help our children and their families. In our school, we have a wonderful opportunity to learn about different cultures. |
Does Hermosa Vista accept open
enrollment? |
| Yes, depending on current enrollment. You may call our office to find out what forms you will need and inquire about this. |
How do we learn about school
rules? |
| Each student will be provided with a notebook, which covers the general rules of the school. Please read these carefully. |
What is the school mascot and
school colors? |
Hermosa Vista's school mascot is the Skyhawk. The
school color is Royal blue. |
What can I do to help my child
to be successful at Hermosa Vista? |
| Attendance! One of the most important ways to support your child is to
encourage daily attendance and make sure that he or she arrives on time. Volunteerism! We love our volunteers. It is amazing how much the children grow with the extra help from those in the community. |
