Our PTO Philosophy
Hermosa Vista PTO is composed of caring parents, guardians, teachers, administrators, and students who take an active interest in the success of our students and school. This is achieved through open communication with parents and faculty, clear and concise fundraising goals, and volunteer support. PTO seeks to build school spirit and community by providing wholesome and fun family activities, as well as support and enrich educational programs and goals set by teachers and administrators. We are forward thinking and open to new ideas and suggestions that will directly impact the education and wellbeing of our students. Parents fulfill an important role in the education of their children, not only at home but at school as well. Educating parents on how easy it is to get involved and valuing their willingness and enthusiasm to volunteer will help create an outstanding educational environment and experience for all of our children.
The PTO strives to provide an organizational structure and activities that develop the community of Hermosa Vista. Through this community, ALL parents can support the curriculum and extracurricular activities as established by the faculty and administration. We are dedicated to increasing our communication between parents/ guardians, school and home and provide opportunities to take an active role within the school, activity or project. We plan to expend funds to have a direct impact on students learning and enrich the student’s environment. Our students are first priority!
To be approved, a project should meet one or more of the following criterion:
•To promote school spirit
•To enhance school programs, including but not limited to: Fine Arts and Athletics
•To improve self-esteem of students
•To support existing curriculum
