Hello!  Welcome to the library my name is Mrs. Johnson.  I have been at Hermosa Vista for 16 years now.  The first 5 years I taught a program called Bridges.  I really enjoyed that program but as funding went away for extra programs so did my job.  I was then placed in the library and I cannot telling you how much I LOVE IT.  I am so fortunate because I get to work with every student at Hermosa Vista.

When I moved to the library I also went back to Mesa Community College. I took several classes and graduated with an Advanced Library Information Technician certificate. It took me 3 years to complete and I am so thankful for the opportunity to be working in the library.

I have been married for 30 years to my wonderful husband Craig. We have a son, Travis, who is 29 years old and lives in Colorado.  Our daughter, Brianna, who is 27 years old and lives in Edmonton, Alberta. It is so cold there.

I have always been an avid reader and love sharing stories with your students.  I can't tell you how excited I get when a struggling reader comes in and tells me how great a book was that I recommended.  Reading is fundamental.  In fact, it is one of the most important ingredients to becoming all that you can be.   Reading develops your brain, provides a window into the world around you and helps you do better in all school subjects.

This year I will continue to spark your child's interest in reading and try to help them develop a love of reading just like I have.

I hope your school year is a great one and KEEP ON READING.
