Dear Parents,
I would like to welcome you and your child to an
exciting year in fourth grade at Highland School. It is
going to be a great year and I am looking forward to
having your child in my classroom. I appreciate and enjoy
parental assistance and feel that you and I should work
together as a team in the best interests of your child.
If you have one or two hours a week that you would
like to volunteer in the classroom, please let me know.In
addition, I need some very special helpers. The Art
Masterpiece program is an exciting opportunity for
parents to get involved. A volunteer parent is trained
and then visits my classroom once every two weeks to
present a great masterpiece. The presentation normally
lasts about fifteen minutes. I need one volunteer to do
this.
We also need to have at least one"official"
room-parent to help coordinate with our parent-teacher
group. We are also needing parents who may have a
interest of expertise in science or math to help with
some special new programs.
We have a very active student council here at
Highland, and the class will be electing two officers and
two alternates to attend the meetings. If you think that
this is something your child may be interested in,
discuss it with them and let me know. Our elections will
be held shortly after the beginning of school.
One final note: Personal toys, gum and expensive items
should be left at home by your child. Please help me by
not allowing your child to bring such items to school.
Thank you in advance.
I look forward to working with your child this school
year!
Sincerely,Shelly Brown
P.S. Please mark your calendar for Thursday, Aug. 9th
"Parent Meet the Teacher Night". This is for parents only
