At Highland Arts, the entire staff is concerned with your child's personal growth, development, and well-being. We particularly focus on the academic and intellectual experiences that we provide all students.
As an arts integrated magnet school, we know that integrating visual and performance arts into education improves student engagement, improves retention of material, and makes learning a more enjoyable and rewarding experience.
Our whole school assemblies include musical presentations, as well as dramatic and patriotic productions. Academic and behavior awards are also presented at these assemblies in a dramatic, exciting way.
With an art gallery entrance, murals on most walls and some ceilings, an amphitheater outside and extended stage inside, we offer students creative opportunities at all levels. We utilize two computer labs for student created movies, as well as audio and video podcasts, in conjuction with the arts and academic curriculum.
We have a primary 1st-3rd Grade musical production yearly and an intermediate 4th-6th Grade musical production as well for students.
We have almost 300 boundary-exemption students. We are proud of our academic achievement, which ranks us in the top 6%.
