Pam Robedeau reviewed the information received and handed out at the parent meeting regarding Isafe, a program and information sources for parents on internet protection for kids. The presentation at Highland was good, however, their was low parent participation.

Report Card - is available on the internet, was sent home to the parents, Highland is an Excelling School!!

Intervention - 6 people from Highland went to a state conference to learn and work on a new program designed to measure kids who need re-teaching. The focus is catching the need early instead of working on the premise that they will get it eventually. The program is designed to intervine now and get all the kids on the same level by 4th grade and works with a 3 step process. District is paying for the program, we are measuring the effectiveness and are focusing on math/reading.

Parent Requests - Concerns over bike theft at other schools, not a problem at this point at Highland. 1st aid certification for teachers, diabetic educators for training to teachers

Kindergarten - registration beginning for early K

Cynthia - Update/Imag. Cynthia Halliday reported that she has not met with the district group and the new agenda is not out at this time. Things with the imag. Are going great/lots of teacher support and enthusiasm for the program from the kids.

Golden Apple Awards - Nominate your teacher

Parent input - Pam Robedeau received her smart board today. We are working on having 3, one for Corrine Wachter and one for the media center. Pam will give a demonstration at the next meeting. Skateland fund raiser and Mcdonalds night coming up to support the Karbula scholarship fund, tell your neighbors to attend these events for a worth while cause.
