Dear Parents,

My name is Melanie Iniguez and it is my pleasure to be your child's 3rd grade teacher at Highland Arts Elementary.

I've been teaching for Mesa Public Schools for 20 years and have been at Highland most of those years.  I'm honored to be a Highland teacher!  I graduated from ASU with my bachelors degree in education with an emphasis on Fine Arts and hold endorsements in early childhood education and Structured English Immersion. I received my masters degree from NAU in bilingual/multicultural education.  I will always strive to be a lifelong learner.

The education of our children has been one of National concern. I join in that concern and have developed my philosophy of education in accordance. I believe that all children are capable of learning and every child has their own unique strength and talent. I look to expand upon those strengths as I encourage my students to grow. I also believe that children learn best in a positive atmosphere and success is reached when what is learned in the classroom can be applied to "real life" situations.

Third grade will be an exciting adventure for your child. I am looking forward to a year of learning and growing with all of my students!

Curriculum Night is in August and I look forward to seeing all of you!

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call or e-mail me any time.
