Biography:

I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. My career in teaching began when I was five years old. I used to gather the neighborhood kids to sit on the steps of my front porch. We would play a game where I would give them questions and with each correct answer they would get to move up a step. The first to reach the top would be my helper. 

After many years of "step school",  I decided to seek formal educational training. I graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. After several years of teaching I decided to go back to school and get my Masters. In between all of the schooling I traveled extensively and had a child. 

I moved to Arizona five years ago and have been teaching in Mesa the entire time. This year marks my eleventh year of teaching, nine of which have been in Kindergarten.

My hobbies / passions include reading, writing, traveling, hiking, and playing music. I have traveled to Europe several times and to Africa twice. I am currently in the process of writing a book.

I love my job and find that Kindergarten is my favorite age / grade to teach. I look forward to being your child's teacher!
