Teaching Intern Information

Teacher in Residence Program (TIR)
Mesa Public Schools will consider candidates interested in teaching in the following areas for the TIR program. 

  • Special Education, K-12 grade
  • Math, 7-12 grade
  • Science, 7-12 grade (General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science)
  • English, 7-12 grade
  • Foreign Languages, 7-12 grade (Chinese, Spanish)

Teacher Intern Fast Facts

  • All TIR programs are designed to take 2 years to complete
    • During the 2 years you will be a full time teacher and a full time student
  • Mesa partners with Rio Salado College, Grand Canyon University and Arizona State University
  • Candidate must hold a BA or BS degree
  • Candidate must hold a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Candidate must pass the appropriate NES subject test for the subject to be taught

  • Candidate must make contact with one of Mesa’s partner college/universities to begin the enrollment process

Before submitting an online application with Mesa Public Schools please have:

  • Unofficial passing results of NES subject test
  • Application for Arizona IVP fingerprint card
