Position
To provide an in-depth understanding of the student information applications; to facilitate district-wide processing initiatives; to ensure the integrity of information reported to State government (SAIS and Az SAFE) and other outside agencies; and to communicate regularly with school secretaries, office specialists, attendance clerks, registrars and administrators regarding attendance and registration processes.Qualifications

High school education or equivalent

Moderate proficiency in typing, with good accuracy; above average test battery; high math aptitude

Knowledge and understanding of student attendance and registration requirements

Familiarity with Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS) relating to public education, State reporting requirements (SAIS and Az SAFE), and District recordkeeping guidelines preferred

Knowledge and experience with Genesis, SASI or another student information system preferred

Superior written and verbal communication skills and ability to handle heavy telephone support traffic

Ability to learn quickly, grasp new concepts and work with limited supervision

Strong problem solving skills with a disciplined and structured approach to problem resolution

Ability to work with frequent interruptions while engaged with multiple, diverse assignments in a flexible environment where requirements and procedures continuously evolve

Ability to work in a team environment, sharing workloads and responsibilities

Understanding of district recordkeeping standards and state reporting guidelines helpful
Essential Duties

Evaluate student applications to ensure conformance to requirements and specifications
-
Communicate regularly with school secretaries, office specialists, attendance clerks, registrars and administrators regarding attendance, registration, and discipline incident reporting requirements and processes and provide support and documentation as needed

Conduct regular data integrity reviews to ensure compliance with state reporting standards
-
Monitor, review and facilitate in correction of state reporting exceptions and reconciliation of district and state reporting results

Validate concurrent enrollments and research SAIS ID issues

Enter district calendars for schools at ADE

Coordinate with EVIT on reporting issues related to concurrently enrolled and satellite students

Provide support and information on admission of non district students/tuition waivers
-
Participate in and provide support to student information audit process
-
Work closely with district support staff and software vendors to improve product quality and ease of use
-
Verify the correctness of reports and queries and modify as required
-
Assist with support and training for student information applications
-
Provide documentation to be included in instructional guides, online documentation, procedural instructions, support guides, and meeting informational packets

Facilitate district-wide processing initiatives related to student information systems

Assist with system administration functions related to student information systems as needed
Marginal Duties
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
