Student Teacher/Intern Information

Mesa Public Schools offers student teaching opportunities for future teachers.  In addition, the district works with several institutions of higher education to allow college students to complete their required field experience hours at a Mesa school (unpaid internships).

Your college or university advisor will give you instructions about contacting our school sites to secure student teaching position or complete field experience hours.  Once you have secured a placement, please complete the following steps:

Student Teaching OR Field Experience, 31 or more hours per semester

  1. Print and complete the Student Teacher Information Form
  2. Print and complete the Field Experience Agreement for Student Teacher
  3. Give the school secretary a copy of each, along with a copy of your fingerprint clearance card
  4. Fax a copy of all three items to Human Resources; 480-472-0422

Field Experience, 30 or less hours per semester

  1. Print and complete the Field Experience Volunteer Application
  2. Have the Field Experience Volunteer Application signed by the school administrator
  3. Give the school secretary a copy of the signed Field Experience Volunteer Application
  4. Send a copy of the signed Field Experience Volunteer Application to Volunteer Services
