Hi, my name is Cynthia Blakely. This is my first year teaching 2nd, 4th year at Hughes and Mesa Public Schools. This is my 24th year of teaching, in a combination of several different school districts. I have taught 9 years in Kindergarten, I have also taught 1st grade, computer specials and 12 years of Preschool.
A little about my education, I have a Master's in Education in Elementary Reading from Grand Canyon University. For my Bachelor's degree I attended the Indigenous Teacher Preparation Program at Arizona State University and I obtained a Certified Child Development Associate while I was at Scottsdale Community College. I am a lifelong learner and educating myself and others is a part of my life.
In my personal life, I have raised 5 wonderful children. My children rage in age from 22 to 34. All my children have attended Mesa Public Schools and are currently in, or have graduated from college. I have 4 grandchildren, 3 girls and 1 boy. I love my grand-kids!
My goal is to provide the best environment for students to learn. I want my students to feel good about their educational experience and feel excited about school everyday! I also encourage parent participation in their child's education. One way a parent can participate, can be by volunteering time in the classroom, at school, at home. Investing in a child's education by parent involvement will produce the payment of a students success in school. If you would like to help in any way, or would like to know how you can help, please feel free to contact me.
