Biography

I was raised in a small town in the White Mountains of Eastern Arizona. After graduating from high school, I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree from BYU. I have my Early Childhood Endorsement and my Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement.

I entered Mesa Public Schools as a substitute teacher (K-6) and worked in that capacity for 5 years with several long term assignments all over the district. I have been teaching the last 20 years for the Mesa School District at Irving Elementary and have loved it. I first taught Kindergarten, then Early Kindergarten, then First Grade, and now having made a complete circle, I currently enjoy teaching Full-Day Kindergarten. Having taught the grade level just above and just below the level of my students I feel I have a greater understanding of what students are coming in with and what they need to have to be able to be ready for First Grade.

Each of my five boys  and now my little girl has attended Irving and has had a great experience here! I am grateful for the opportunity I have to be a part of Irving!
