Hello, I am excited to be your child's teacher this year!  Ever since I was in the first grade, I wanted to become a teacher!  I look forward to teaching and helping your child so they can succeed in all areas.   Here you can read a little about myself and teaching experiences.

I am an Arizona Native.  I grew up in the North Phoenix area.  I attended Paradise Valley High School and then went on to ASU for my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with an English as a Second Language Endorsement.  During my first year teaching, I completed a cohort program in the valley to earn my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from NAU.  I also have a Reading Endorsement and an Early Childhood Endorsement.

I have many different experiences teaching in various school districts which include Glendale Elementary, Deer Valley Unified, and Tempe Elementary.  I have also taught high school electives classes at Primavera Online.  In the brick-and-mortar schools I taught second grade for one year and then moved to kindergarten and have loved it ever since!  This will be my eighth year teaching Kindergarten and my second year at Irving.

Lastly, some other information that is a big part of my experience.  I have five children, one boy, and four girls!  Three of my children are in high school, one in middle school, and one in elementary school.  I also have experience teaching my own children before they entered kindergarten.  With my children and other children coming to my home, I ran my own home preschool-daycare for three years.   As I reflect on my years teaching my own children, I think about the ways they have also taught me about the virtue of patience.  In addition, how my own children gave me the insight and firsthand experience in how each child is unique and each has their own individual learning style.
