I have always loved teaching and I have served in many different positions throughout the years. This is my thirteenth year as a professional educator. I started my career in Florida, and shortly after I moved to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, where I taught Kindergarten and pre-Kinder. That experience shaped my life in monumental ways. I grew to appreciate the Hispanic culture and their quality of life. After 2 years in Honduras, I returned to my home state, North Carolina, where I received a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and a K-12 ESL endorsement. For five years, I worked in Sampson County Schools as a Migrant Education Resource Teacher.
Utimately, I landed in Mesa, Arizona, where I now live with my husband and two children. I was a stay-at-home mom for nine years before I returned to public education. It is my pleasure to be a part of the Mesa Public Schools, and especially, Irving Elementary. This year, I begin a new position as a second grade teacher.
