Welcome!  I am excited for another year!

I am sure most of you know me, but I began my teaching career here at Ishikawa 26 years ago.  I taught 3rd and 4th grade for several years before moving up to 5th grade where I have stayed.

I graduated from Miami High School in 1979 and then attended Arizona State University to receive a B.A. degree in Business.  After working for the banking industry for nine years I returned to school and received an Elementary teaching certificate from Ottawa University.  Since then, I have also received an M.A. degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University and an M.A. degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix.

My husband, Mike, and I were born and raised in Miami, Arizona, a small mining community about 70 miles east of Mesa.  As we say in Miami, "Once a Vandal, Always a Vandal."

My son, Brian, is a graduate of Dobson High School and is a self-employed Audio Visual Technician.  I also have 2 stepchildren:  Stephen and Stephany. When we are not taking off on our Harley, our four grandchildren, Juliana-Aliyah-Jade-Devyn, keep us busy.  Being a "Nana" is very exciting, but very exhausting.

If you ever happen to drive through my hometown, make sure you stop to eat because Miami, AZ is truly “Home of the Best Mexican Food!!”
