I am very excited to be teaching kindergarten at Ishikawa Elementary!  This will be my 23rd year teaching.  Last year was my first year at Ishikawa and my first year teaching kindergarten.  I spent the previous13 years teaching first grade in Mesa at Falcon Hill Elementary.  I love to teach and I love to watch as these students learn and grow.  They are like sponges that soak everything in and they learn so much so fast.  I especially love to help students learn to read!

I grew up in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on a farm.  It is thirty miles from the Canadian border. I believe it is one of the prettiest places on earth and I love to go home every summer. My dad grew wheat and canola.  I am the oldest of six children.  I graduated from BYU with a bachelor’s degree.  I also graduated from ASU with a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Language and Literacy.  I enjoy learning, hiking, reading, and attending plays.

I’m looking forward to great year!
