Biography
I have been teaching special education for 30 years. I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Connecticut. I taught two years in Stonington, Connecticut before moving to Arizona. I taught an Emotionally Handicapped program for 6 years in the Peoria School District. I then took 10 years off to raise my three children. During that time I earned my bachelor’s degree in general education. I moved to Mesa in 1995 and began working for Mesa Public Schools. I taught the primary learning disabilities resource program at Hale Elementary for 12 years. I earned a Masters of Education in Counseling with an emphasis on Human Relations in 2008. I left the classroom and worked as the Least Restrictive Specialist for two years. I found that I missed working directly with the students and returned to the classroom at Ishikawa School in the primary resource program. I have been teaching the resource program at Ishikawa school for 11 years.
