Welcome to a fun, exciting, and challenging year! I am eager to begin my second year teaching Gifted & Talented at Ishikawa, and I look forward to working closely with you and your child.
I have a Master's Degree from ASU in Elementary Education, and I have been teaching for 22 years, both in Arizona and Hong Kong. I have a sweet little boy named Finn, who is the light of my life and keeps me smiling... and busy! He will be in second grade this year. I love to travel and have had the opportunity to travel all over the world, including parts of America, Mexico, Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, and Europe. I enjoy spending time at the beach, and snorkeling and scuba diving are two of my favorite things to do on vacation. Scuba diving is a passion I share with my husband, James. In fact, he proposed to me on a dive, 40 feet below the surface, and we got married in the shark tunnel at Sea Life Aquarium!
In my spare time, I enjoy going to the movies, building with Lego (yes, you read that right... Lego), and traveling. This past summer, my family and I bought a new house and did a lot of remodeling!
A few of my favorites:
Food: pizza (my favorite is Oregano's)
Treat: chocolate & peanut butter anything!
Drink: Starbucks iced vanilla chai tea latte with coconut milk, Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper
Book: I LOVE to read, and can't choose just one. My favorite genre is fantasy!
Movie: I LOVE movies, and some of my favorites are the Star Wars and Jurassic Park series! Harkins is our favorite theater to visit as a family.
I also love anything Disney-related!
