This is my twenty eighth year teaching elementary physical education, and my second year at Ishikawa Elementary School.
I grew up in Brookfield, Wisconsin and attended school here through high school. After graduating in 1982, I moved to Tempe Arizona where I pursued a college degree from Arizona State University. I graduated from ASU in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education, and completed my Teaching Degree in 1988.
I have a strong passion for teaching Physical Education. When I was younger, physical education lead me to an interest in athletics, specifically baseball, football, and track and field, and also a love for being physically active. Through athletics, I have had the opportunity to meet many people, many of which I continue to have good friendships with, and also to develop an interest in physical activity and the healthy benefits this has provided for me. I do not play as many sports as I once did, but now have the pleasure of assisting my two kids, and my current students in their athletic and active endeavors.
In addition to my teaching responsibilities at Ishikawa, I am also an assistant baseball coach at Mesa High School.
I am married to a beautiful and talented wife who teaches in the Mesa School District, and I have two wonderful children who graduated from Mesa High...my daughter is a sophomore at ASU and my son is a senior at Coastal Carolina University.
