I am Ms. Cheer and I am the band teacher at Ishikawa Elementary and Salk Elementary. This is my second year teaching in Mesa, but I also did my student teaching here! I previously taught in the Peoria Unified School District. I am originally from Michigan, and got my Bachelors degree in Clarinet Performance from Central Michigan University (fire up, chips!). I moved to Arizona in 2014 with my Pomeranian, Joey, and I received my Masters degree in music education from Arizona State University in 2017. 

When I am not teaching or playing music, I am usually playing with my dog, playing video games, or cooking. I have taught high school marching bands for the past 10 years both in Michigan and in Arizona. Right now I work with the Mountain View High School marching band, and I have previously worked with Queen Creek High School and Sunrise Mountain High School. Currently, I perform with the Arizona Wind Symphony based in Tempe. We perform at the Tempe Center for the Arts and I encourage you to check out one of our concerts sometime!
