Welcome to 1st grade! I'm excited to meet all of my new students!
My name is Yvette Christiansen. This will be my tenth year teaching and my second year at Ishikawa! I was born and raised in Mesa and attended Redbird, Powell and graduated from Dobson. I now live in Gilbert, but to me, Mesa will always be my home!
My family is my first priority. I have been married to my husband for 14 years and together we have three beautiful daughters. I also have two dogs named Max and Molly and a cat named Charlotte. Together, we enjoy taking walks to the park, going to the movies and playing board games.
In my classroom, students will work collaboratively with their peers to solve problems that require critical thinking. I enjoy using hands-on activities when teaching lessons and enjoy having my students lead discussions. I believe my classroom should be a safe place for all children to learn and take chances.
Parents play the most important role in a child’s education, so I want you to feel free to contact me at any time. Please be consistent in checking their agendas daily and reinforcing both good and bad behaviors at home. I ask that you trust in my teaching and I hope that we can work together to make this year a successful one!!!!
