WELCOME TO THIRD GRADE!
This year we will be working on curriculum that is aligned with Third Grade AZ common core standards. We are an AVID school. We will also focus on AVID strategies which will help our students become successful learners. Please see your child's agenda for information on AVID. We have started a new behavior incentive system called PBIS. Please see your child's agenda for an explanation.
Here is our weekly schedule:
DAILY RECESS: 9:30-9:45am (when available)
Daily Reading Interventions: 8:05 - 8:45am
DAILY LUNCH: 11:35 - 12:15
MONDAY: PE - 10:55 - 11:25am
TUESDAY: Music - 9:45 - 10:15am
WEDNESDAY: PE - 10:55 -11:25am
THURSDAY: Music - 9:45 - 10:15 / Comp. Lab -10:20 - 10:50am
FRIDAY: Library - 10:55 - 11:25am
Reminders: Please wear or bring tennis shoes on PE days.
"Dress for Success" is every Wednesday.
Please sign your child's agenda each night.
Homework is turned in and graded each day.
We are an AVID school which stands for " Advancement Via Individual Determination". We will be teaching our Third Graders strategies that will help them become more successful now and in the future. Our adopted college is Lehman College in New York. Our college mascot is the "Lightning Bug". Our college colors are: blue, green and white. It is very important that your child comes to school each day and on time. If your child is going to be absent, please notify the office. If your child needs to be picked up early, please contact the office prior to 1:00 pm. Keep an eye out for school newsletters and reminders. The agenda is a great tool for organization as well as communication.
