Biography

Hello! My name is Christa Cook. I am the orchestra, K-3 general music, and choir teacher at Jefferson Elementary. I also teach K-3 general music at Highland Arts Elementary on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I am very excited to be returning to Jefferson for my second year and joining the Highland Arts family this year!

I am a proud product of Mesa Public Schools. I attended Patterson Elementary, Smith Jr. High, and graduated from Skyline High School. From a very young age, it was my dream to become a teacher and work in MPS. I am so grateful to now have the opportunity to live that dream every day.

I graduated from Arizona State University with my Bachelor's degree in Music Education. Go Sun Devils! While at ASU, I taught classes and lessons to orchestra students through the ASU String Project. I also played violin in the ASU Symphony Orchestra, chamber orchestras, and small ensembles.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, and writing my own music. My primary instrument is the violin, but I also love playing the viola, cello, bass, piano, and guitar.

I am looking forward to an exciting and musical year with your children! Feel free to contact me by phone or email at any time.
