Hello! Welcome to our wonderful school, Jefferson Elementary. I am the PROUD Principal of the JEFFERSON JAGUARS!!
Student-advocate who believes all children can be successful in academics and social settings working within their own abilities. Accountability of educators, parents, community, and of course students themselves will help strive to succeed in all areas. As a lifelong learner, I have become more open-minded and willing to adapt to change in all areas of life, especially in educating students.
I was a Title 1 Specialist at Holmes Elementary and an Aspiring Rodel Principal. Before this position, I was a Dean of Students at Longfellow Elementary and Lincoln Elementary during the 2009-2008. I was also a 5th and 6th grade teacher at Longfellow for 6 years. I have also taught a year in a K-8th school in Surprise, Arizona. In New Mexico, I taught a year in a 3rd grade bilingual classroom.
I graduated from New Mexico State University in December 2000 and got my first job in January 2001 in Las Cruces, NM. On December 2006, I received my Master's in Education in Educational Leadership. All my education has lead me to a career with many great opportunities and experiences.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and my 6 year old son. We love to enjoy spending quality time traveling and visiting family members. Many times my family accompanies me to school functions and have become apart of the Jefferson Family!
Please feel free to contact me at anytime! I do speak Spanish!
