Biography

Welcome to Jefferson Elementary Title 1 Department!  I am Mary Murdock, the Title 1 School Improvement Specialist at Jefferson Elementary.  My main role is to support students, teachers and parents with instruction, which includes providing training to teachers and parents, training and overseeing our instructional support staff, assessing students, co-ordinating testing, helping teachers with curriculum and providing resources for instruction.  I also oversee the Title 1 programs at the school.

I have been in elementary education for a total of 27 years.  I started my career in Iowa, teaching four years in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades.  My 23 MPS teaching years were primarily at Johnson Elementary in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades and also at Lindbergh Elementary and Lehi Elementary. 

I graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, and received my Masters Degree from Northern Arizona University.
