The 2014-15 school year will complete my seventeenth year of teaching. I began in the small town of Kearny at Ray Elementary. I taught sixth grade for the first five years of my teaching experience. My last year at Ray I taught seventh and eighth grade reading. After moving to Mesa my next three years were spent at Whittier Elementary, my first Mesa Public School, in the fourth grade. To get closer to home I transferred to John Philip Sousa Elementary where I spent the next two years also in fourth grade. My first three years here at Jefferson Elementary I enjoyed the opportunity to teach fifth grade students for the first time. The 2012-13 school year I moved back to fourth grade. Now, in 2014-2015 I am having another new experience. I am now teaching second grade.
