Welcome to V.E. Johnson Elementary, home of the Jayhawks! As principal, I want to provide a safe and caring environment for your child where learning is valued and individual needs are met.   Without a doubt, the strength of Johnson comes from the fabulous staff.  They are passionately committed to the success of our students, both academically and in character development.

Our staff makes learning exciting by actively involving students in the educational process.  At Johnson, our staff will always do what is best for your child. We are committed to providing the best educational program as we "make Jayhawk magic happen"!

Johnson’s learning expectations align with the MPS curriculum and the Arizona State Standards.  Our teachers use strategies and methods that ensure all students are engaged and mastering the skills and concepts necessary to progress and be successful at the next level.  We teach character along with academics and feel it necessary all students understand the importance of being trustworthy, responsible, and respectful in and out of school.

Parents are always welcome in our school.  Being partners with parents ensures that we provide the most effective, positive,  and beneficial educational experience for our students.  We encourage you to become involved in YOUR school.

Every day begins with the opportunity for choices.  To a large extent it is an individual choice whether or not to have a good day.  We want our students to experience success in their academic work, in their character, and in their social interactions with others.  Our society and our future depend on students who are capable and well balanced.
