Dear Johnson Community,
We are pleased to share with you that Johnson Elementary School will soon be receiving a newly renovated basketball court on the intermediate playground, along with new basketball backboards, rims and standards. We are very excited for this opportunity to replace this entire court.
The process has begun today and may take up to 5 weeks to complete. Safety for students and staff is the primary concern during this process. Temporary perimeter fencing has been placed around the basketball area restricting students from entering until the court is complete. Demolition of the old court will take place during Spring Break, and when students return on March 16th, grading and the pouring of new cement will begin to take place. Furthermore, construction crew members are not permitted access to any other area of the school grounds other than within the fenced areas and will have access to their own portable bathrooms.
At this point, please continue to use parent drop-off and pick-up procedures as usual. Montessori parents, a different gate will be used for students to enter and exit the campus, but this gate is still located within the Montessori drop-off/pick-up location. Please continue to use the same area. Remember to please pull forward.
There will be one morning in which the new cement is poured and there may be restrictions for parent drop-off on that day. When we are given notice of this ‘pour’ date, you will inform you of these restrictions as well as any other pertinent information pertaining to drop-off for that specific morning.
Thank you for your support in this new edition to the Johnson campus.
