Jennifer McDermott
Primary Functional Programs

Welcome to the Special Education functional programs! I work with students who need extra help in academics, communication, social skills, and daily living skills. The goals set each year are individual for each student. We have a small class size and work small group and individually with students to meet their needs. The ultimate goal is for students to participate with general education peers as much as possible.I work collaboratively with grade level teachers, our speech and language pathologist, and other relative services. Together we will work to improve our students' academic ability, confidence, and responsibility.

I have been teaching special ed. since January 2000. I graduated from NAU with a dual major in Special Education and Elementary Education and completed my master's through Grand Canyon University in Curriculum and Instruction with a reading emphasis. I have endorsements in SLD, MR, ED, reading, and in SEI.
