While sitting in a group on the floor, the children
sing songs and do finger plays, talk about the
calendar and weather, and discuss the current
unit of study.

The children separate into two groups:Activityand Play Centers.The Activity is an instructional period in which the children learn to follow directions to complete a project.Skills taught include concept development and fine motor skills.During Play Center time the children may choose to play with manipulative toys, computer, painting, art table, playdough, housekeeping, and blocks.Children may also participate in small group language activities for concept, vocabulary, and expressive language development.Students receive individual or small group speech/language therapy as directedby their I.E.P.s.
