The Mesa Public School’s Food and Nutrition Department is committed to implementing the USDA’s School Meal Initiative regulations and complying with the USDA Dietary Guidelines for Americans through a variety of meal planning approaches. Menus are planned to include a variety of foods that are low in sugar, sodium, fat and cholesterol. Menu selections and salad bars are designed to increase breads, grains, fruits and vegetables, as well as other foods rich in vitamins and minerals. The quality and variety of choices provide a value that is an integral part of the educational process.
Parents can use myLunchMoney.com to put pre-payments on student meal accounts. Funds remaining in the account at the end of the school year will carry forward into the next year.
Cash or check may still be sent to the school to pay for student meals. Money should be brought to the school office or given to your child's teacher. Exact change is appreciated.
Applications for free or reduced-price meals may be picked up in the office. As a service to those students who do not have the full amount for lunch, the Food and Nutrition Department will provide a lunch consisting of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a juice or milk that day. Credit cannot be extended for lunches.
