My name is Allen Quie, and I am the principal of the East Mesa Early Childhood Education Center as well as the Early Childhood Special Education Program with the Mesa Public School District. I have held my current position for the past seven years and truly enjoy working with preschool children and their parents and caregivers.
I have been employed with the Mesa Public School District since August of 1997. I was a school psychologist for five years and then spent two years as the lead psychologist for the district. Prior to my employment with Mesa, I worked as a school psychologist for the Grand Forks Public Schools in Grand Forks, North Dakota. I am a native of North Dakota and received my undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Music Performance from Minot State University in Minot, ND. I then received my masters and specialist degrees from the University of Minnesota-Moorhead in School Psychology. I completed my doctorate degree in Educational Psychology at Arizona State University in August of 2003. Throughout all of my higher education, my research activities have focused on early childhood development, and I am passionate in my belief that experiences in the early years of a child's life have a critical effect on future development.
