Early Childhood Education

We currently have five Early Childhood Special Education Programs at Keller Elementary. We serve children who are 3-5 years old with a wide range of disabilities. We have classes for children who are Hearing Impaired (HI), Visually Impaired (VI), Preschool Severely Delayed (PSD), Preschool Moderately Delayed (PMD) and children who are Preschool Speech and Language (PSL) delayed.

Each of our children have been evaluated by the district to determine eligibility. An Individual Education Program (IEP) is written which includes goals to be addressed in the preschool setting. The children learn language skills and basic concepts through play activities. Opportunities for interaction with non-handicapped children are available.
