The Keller Media Center is buzzing with activity, activities and students working on projects. Students are constantly looking for books including the coveted Accelerated Readers.

All primary students (kindergarten through third grade) come in at least once a week for a half hour lesson or story and to return the book they checked out during their last media class. Once their book has been returned they may check out another book. Each primary student may have a maximum of one book out at a time with the exception of the third grade classes who come in a second time each week just long enough to check out a second book.

All intermediate students (fourth through sixth grade) come in every other week for an hour lesson. At that time they return or renew any books that they had checked out and may check out at least one book or magazine. Intermediate students may have a maximum of two items checked out at a time. These students are allowed to come back to exchange books whenever they return the books or magazines they have checked out.

Because of the large amount of students who need to use the materials in the media center students are not allowed to check out two of the same book or magazine. For example a student may have only one magazine out at a time, one book about owls or one book by a writer of a series like R.L. Stine.
