Welcome to 6th Grade!

Hello Families,

My name is Courtney Coker and I would like to welcome you and your children to the start of a new school year in 6th grade.

Though originally from sunny California, I graduated in 2012 from Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils!) with a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education.  I am dual-certified to teach both Special and Elementary Education.  I was fortunate enough to spend my student teaching here at Keller.  This will now be my sixth year as a 6th grade teacher here.

This year will be an exciting time for your child as they transition to junior high school.  N-12 is a place where your student will not only grow in math, reading, and writing, but they will gain many life skills as well.  The students will begin to take more ownership and responsibility for their learning, practice teamwork and cooperation skills, and learn to set and work toward individual goals.  My goal is for your students to leave my class ready for 7th grade and ready to be a leader.

I look forward to working with Mr. McKinley next door and Mr. Aceves in N-9, along with the rest of the staff here, to provide your son/daughter with a fun and exciting year in 6th grade.  I hope to remain in close contact with you throughout the year to give the best support I can for your child's success.  Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

I am so glad to have your children here in N-12 for the upcoming year!
