Dear Families,

I would like to welcome you and your child to 6th grade at Keller Elementary. I am a native of Arizona, spending all but 8 years in either Tucson or here in the Valley. I graduated from ASU in 1985 with a BS in Physical Education. After working in the health club industry, I returned to ASU to attain my teaching degree. I was hired at Lehi Elementary in 1991. During my 11 years there, I taught third, sixth and fourth grade. I received my Master's degree in Elementary Education through NAU in 1987. This is my 15th year here at Keller Elementary. I have been married for 29 years, have a wonderful wife, and have two wonderful kids. I have a beautiful 26 year old daughter. I also have a 19 year old son. I am also a grandfather of an awesome 11 month old boy. I had a relaxing summer and I am ready to begin a new school year.

This year, we have three sixth grade classrooms. I will be working with 2 very good teammates. Ms. Coker brings a high enthusiasm and great ideas to Keller. Along with Ms. Coker, I will be working Mr. Aceves. He will be teaching the Dual Language class. The sixth grade team will be working with many other teachers throughout the year with specialists, interventionists, and classroom aides.

I am very excited to be teaching your child this year.  Your child will be challenged quite a bit.  I expect to have a very productive year and hope to keep in close contact with you regarding your child's education.

 Thank you,

                                                                                                                         Mr. McKinley
