Welcome to another year at Keller!! I have been teaching at the Early Childhood Special Education class at Keller for several years and feel exited to be working in a preschool setting again!! I not only enjoy working with this age group, but love to see the growth that my students make each year through the collaborative work of both teachers and parents. I currently work part-time for Mesa Public Schools in the afternoons, so please feel free to contact me by email or phone.
I have been a teacher in Mesa Public Schools for over 30 years and have taught Kindergarten, Developmental Kindergarten, 4th grade, 6th grade, special education classes for Mild and Moderate Intellectual Disabilities, and reading as a reading specialist. I previously taught preschool during my graduate studies at the University of Kansas.
I have a Bachelors of Science in Education Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Emporia State University in Kansas and a Masters of Science in Education Degree in Special Education from the University of Kansas.
I currently hold certifications from the State of Arizona for Special Education, Elementary Education, Reading Specialist, and Endorsements in English as a Second Language and Early Childhood. Professionally I have been involved with Council for Exceptional Children as a presenter, local chapter president, and president for the Arizona State Federation. I also have served as a school board member in Tempe Elementary School District.
As a former Jayhawker from Kansas, I enjoy Arizona tremendously for our great weather where people can enjoy the outdoors during the winters!! I'm married and have 1 daughter.
