Biography

This is my third year teaching Physical Education at Kerr. I could not be more excited to continue my journey as part of the Kerr community. I believe physical activity is vital for the success of all students. Physical activity helps build healthy minds and bodies, which enable us to perform our best socially, emotionally and academically. Each day, I strive to stay active and model this for my students.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion from Arizona State University and my Master's in Physical Education at Arizona State University as well. While at Arizona State, I was awarded the Ron Lane Spirit of Teaching Award and the Outstanding Student Teacher of the Year Award for 2016.

The clubs I run at Kerr include: Walking and Running Club, Fun Fitness Friday, Brain Breaks and Reward P.E.. Students can also look forward to Jump Rope for Heart, Walk On! Challenge, Turkey Trot, Reindeer Run, March Madness and Track and Field Days during the 2018-2019 school year. I represent Kerr as the Wellness Ambassador for Mesa Public Schools, and I serve on the Leadership Team and the SIAC team.

In my spare time, I enjoy running, soccer, traveling, reading, hiking and spending time with family. Please feel free to watch and/or participate with your child during P.E. at any time.
