Kathleen Devereux grew up in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in elementary and special education. She was in the first graduating class that participated in an urban education program and began teaching with the educational team that transitioned special education programs onto comprehensive campuses. After moving to Arizona, she completed her Masters Degree in Leadership in Education from Northern Arizona University while teaching at Flowing Wells High School. Most of her 24 years of service has been in K-6th grade special education programs, but has also taught for several years in 5th and 6th grade classrooms. This is her 6th year at Mesa Public Schools and second year at Kerr Elementary. She is pleased to bring her expertise to the self-contained Autism Program and enjoys serving Kerr students and families.
Kathleen loves spending time with her extended family, husband, and two college aged daughters. During her free time you might find her cooking, crafting, or participating in community and church activities. Mrs. Devereux is looking forward to this year's new adventures.
