7:30am – 2:00pm
7:30am – 1:30pm EVERY WEDNESDAY
Each morning the students are to go directly to the Kindergarten Courtyard when they come to school, dropping their backpacks off at their teacher’s classroom door and then reporting to the FRONT PLAYGROUND. The first bell rings at 7:25am where students should line up and be ready to start the school day. After 7:30am students are considered tardy and should check-in with the front office before proceeding to class.
If your child is bringing money
to school to purchase lunch and/or any other items please make sure the money
is labeled with your child’s name, the amount, and what the money is for. Please place the money in an envelope or
baggie. If money is not labeled, the
money will be sent home. You may set up on line payments to add money to or
view the balance of your child’s meal account. Please visit www.mpsaz.org/food
and select My School Bucks.
Toys at School
Toys are fun, but they are not allowed at school as they tend to cause distractions. If your child sneaks a toy into their backpack, I will keep it in a safe place until you are able to pick it up.
Each day your child will bring home a folder with homework and notes from school. Please check your child’s folder daily so that you are aware of assignments, important dates, notes from the teacher, and upcoming events.
*This folder will be sent home each day and must return back to school each day.
Notes from Home and Transportation Change
Please put all notes in your child’s folder. Most children forget about notes in their backpack once they get to school. If there is a change in your child’s transportation routine, I MUST receive a written note. DO NOT SEND ANY VERBAL MESSAGES. If no written note is received, your child will be sent home by his/her usual method of transportation. If your child’s transportation routine unexpectedly changes during the day, you must contact the school office.
Each child’s birthday will be celebrated in class. Please let me know if you have any special concerns regarding birthdays. Each child will receive a birthday crown and a birthday balloon. If you would like to send in a special treat to share with the class, please send a note a day or two in advance. Also, please bring in treats that are store bought. Please do not send in whole cakes or drinks as it is difficult to clean up. In an effort to be fair to all of the children in our class, please do not send party invitations to be passed out at school unless you have one for each child.
We will have a daily snack in Kindergarten. Please provide your child with a daily snack. The snacks should be healthy and something that your child can eat quickly with no preparation. A healthy snack helps keep young minds bright and alert. Your child may bring a water bottle with their name on it. Please do not send in juice as it is difficult to clean up when spilled.
Healthy Snack Suggestions:
cereal mix cheese crackers
animal crackers fruit roll-ups
fruit or veggies (please cut up)
Please give the children a few weeks to settle in to the routine of school. I welcome volunteers in the classroom as well as “at home” volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out a “Classroom Volunteer Form” that will be sent home in September.
Star Student of the Week
Throughout the school year, we will honor and highlight one child each week. I will need your help to make this successful. This project is a homework assignment. The week before your child is honored, I will send home a letter notifying you that your child has been chosen. Each child will color and complete an All About Me poster to share with the class.
For students of this age to get the most out of assignments, they must be supervised and assisted. A homework packet will be sent home every Monday in your child’s folder. **The homework packet must be signed and returned to school each Friday. Homework will begin in September
