Mrs. Allen is an Arizona native and a graduate of the University of Arizona. She earned a BS degree in Science before attending Arizona State to further her education, and earn a teaching degree. Most of her 20+ years of teaching has been in gifted education, as she taught in a gifted, magnet school in Dallas, Texas for many years before returning “home” to Arizona. She then taught fourth grade in Apache Junction, along with gifted classes, then 4th grade at Sousa Elementary in Mesa before teaching Gifted at Falcon Hill. She then came to Las Sendas to teach 6th grade before going back into the Gifted Program.
She is very excited to be in 5th grade now, and feels very blessed to be working with such great students, parents, and staff members here at Las Sendas! She loves the Enrichment Program and the students she teaches.
Mrs. Allen, and her husband Jim, live in Mesa with two Australian Shepherds, Maverick and Bandit, and her horses Daisy and Penny, and a miniature horse named Smokey. She is often seen at horse shows on weekends competing in reining and cow-horse competitions. She also loves riding her Ninja motorcycle out to Canyon Lake, riding her quad at the dunes, or autocross racing their Miata.
