Kristi Torbenson grew up in a small farming community in North Dakota, graduating with 6 other students. She attended North Dakota State University earning a bachelors degree in Nursing with a minor in Sociology.
Kristi has worked in many different areas of nursing over the past 27 years. She has worked in a pediatric hospital, an intensive care nursery, a family birthing center, a pediatric clinic, for home health, as a director of nursing for a nursing home, and in public health. This is her 11th year as a school nurse. Kristi is the school nurse at Las Sendas Elementary and Jonas Salk Elementary. Kristi has her school nurse certification through the state of Arizona. It is her goal to provide a safe and healthy environment for all students.
Kristi, her husband, and her 2 youngest children live in Mesa. Kristi's daughter is a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO.
One interesting tidbit about Kristi is there is a breed of cattle named after her maiden name Bueling. Her grandfather developed a breed of black cows with a white stripe around their stomachs named “Buelingos”.
