Dear families,

Hello! First and foremost, I hope that you and your loved ones are well. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during these uncertain times.

According to the most recent communication from the District, teachers will not be on campus until Wednesday. Our first grade team plans on meeting on Wednesday to collaborate and prepare work for students and resources for you during the school closure. My goal is to have work prepared for each child by Thursday morning at the office ready for pick-up. Digital copies will also be available, but I foresee it being much easier for you to come by and pick up a packet versus printing everything out at home. Please do whatever works best for you!

As to the packet that will be provided, it will consist of review concepts our class has learned in all core subjects along with reading fluency practice so that the children maintain their skills.  I will also be sharing many online resources/sites for your child as well. I will be sending suggestions on how to pace the work. Every family has a different situation and I will not be taking any of these assignments for a grade. However, please have your child work on these upcoming assignments to the best of their ability. It is very important that they practice the skills we've already learned. As always, I recommend that your children READ, READ, READ and practice their sight words.

This is all new territory for teachers, parents, and children. New information unfolds on a daily basis (sometimes multiple times per day). I will try to keep you informed the best that I can along the way. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for anything.

Please know that I value each and every one of you. We are in this together! Take care of yourselves and your families and please give a little squeeze and hello to my favorite first graders from Mrs. Alber :) I miss each and every one of them. I will be in touch this again this week. Thank you again for your support and patience.

Marisol Alber  :)
