Rachelle Sears graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She taught junior high language arts, fifth grade, second grade and is currently teaching kindergarten. Professionally she has been nominated for Heart of the School Award in 2000, 2002, and 2003. Ms. Sears was nominated for the Disney’s American Teacher Award. In addition, Rachelle was published in Mailbox Magazine in the Feb/March 2006 issue. In 2009, Ms. Sears had a student win First Place and a student with an Honorable Mention in the MPS Voices Writing Contest. March 2011 was a special year for Rachelle Sears, as she was awarded Educator of the Month by the Superintendent of Schools in Mesa. In 2012, s. Sears had two of her Kindergarten students win the Voices Writing Contest. In 2013 Ms. Sears had an Honorable Mention for a Class Book titled "Santa's Time Off", as well as three students in her class earning a First Place - two with a Narrative Writing entry and one with a Poetry entry from the District's Voices Contest. Every year since 2012, Rachelle Sears has had students win in the Mesa Public School writing contest!
Outside of school, Rachelle enjoys tennis, decorating and believe it or not - bootcamp workouts! She was once a member of Desert Club. Desert Club was founded in 1946, a non-profit women's service organization providing scholastic scholarships to students living in the East Valley and community grants to non-profit organizations serving women and children.
